The $100 Tier Buys Headroom, Not a Better Model

SuperGrok Plus sits at $100/month between SuperGrok at $30 and Heavy at $300, now confirmed on the official pricing page. It adds significantly higher weekly usage, 1080p video creation and priority access — running the same Grok 4.6 as the $30 tier. The detail that decides it: all paid Grok plans share one weekly pool across Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build.

UPDATED 13 SEPTEMBER 2026
Rewritten. When we first covered this in July, SuperGrok Plus was unconfirmed and reported at $1,000 billed annually. It is now listed on the official pricing page at $100 per month. Model, tier structure and the shared-pool detail all updated.

QUICK VERDICT

Price: $100/month, confirmed on x.ai/pricing
What it adds: significantly higher weekly usage, 1080p video creation, priority access, early feature access
What it does not add: a better model. Same Grok 4.6 as the $30 tier
Worth it if: you hit weekly limits on SuperGrok regularly, or you generate video at volume
Not worth it if: you have never seen a limit warning. That is most people at $30

The Shared Pool Is What Actually Decides This

ONE ALLOWANCE, FOUR PRODUCTS

Paid Grok plans meter Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build against a single weekly pool. Generate a run of images and you have less left for research. Spend an afternoon in voice and the same applies.

That detail appears on neither the pricing page nor in most coverage, and it is the reason people hit limits sooner than they expect. Before paying $100, work out which of the four is consuming your allowance — it may not be the one you think.

Where It Sits in the Lineup

TierPriceModelWhat it is for
Grok free$0Limited~10 messages per 2 hours. Enough to try, not to rely on
SuperGrok Lite$10Grok 4.6Entry paid tier, Grok Imagine, one agent
SuperGrok$30Grok 4.6The main tier. Live X data, DeepSearch, voice, four agents
SuperGrok Plus$100Grok 4.6Higher usage, 1080p video, priority access
SuperGrok Heavy$300Grok 4.6 HeavyMaximum limits, heaviest reasoning mode

The jump from $30 to $100 is 3.3 times the price for the same model. That is the number to sit with. You are buying headroom and video resolution, not capability.

What $100 Actually Gets You

Significantly higher weekly usage across Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build. xAI does not publish the numeric limits for any tier, so this is directional rather than specified.

1080p video creation. The clearest single differentiator, and the one most likely to justify the tier on its own if video is your work.

Priority access during peak load and faster replies. Real, and hard to value until you have been queued.

Early access to new features before they reach other tiers.

What it does not get you: a different model. Grok 4.6 runs on the $30 tier too. If you are upgrading expecting better answers, you will not get them.

The $100 Question, Against What Else $100 Buys

At roughly $100/month you could haveWhat you get
SuperGrok PlusHeadroom and 1080p video on Grok 4.6
SuperGrok $30 + ChatGPT Plus $20 + Claude Pro $20Three assistants, three separate allowances, GPT-6 Astra included, and $30 left over
Claude MaxFive times the Pro allowance, Opus 5 by default
SuperGrok $30 + $70 of API creditNo ceiling on the API portion at all

The second row is the one worth taking seriously. Three subscriptions across three vendors gives you three separate pools rather than one larger shared one — and since the shared pool is the thing that causes limit problems, splitting the work across providers solves the actual complaint rather than postponing it.

It only fails if live X data is genuinely central to what you do, in which case no amount of ChatGPT or Claude substitutes for it.

Should You Wait for Grok 4.7?

Musk indicated an early-to-mid September window. As of today there is still no model ID at docs.x.ai, no published price and no benchmark card.

Worth knowing that model upgrades have historically reached all paid tiers rather than the top one only — Grok 4.6 runs on the $10 Lite tier. So waiting for 4.7 is not an argument for or against Plus specifically. If you need the headroom now, the model version is not the variable.

Who Should Buy It

Buy it if

You hit weekly limits on SuperGrok most weeks. You generate video and need 1080p. You have been queued during peak load often enough to notice. Live X data is central to your work and you cannot split it across providers.

Do not buy it if

You have never seen a limit warning. You are upgrading expecting better answers — the model is identical. You have not checked which of Chat, Imagine, Voice or Build is consuming your pool. You would rather have three assistants than one with more headroom.

Try first

Spend a week deliberately not using Imagine or Voice and see whether the chat limits still bite. If they stop being a problem, you have a distribution issue rather than a capacity one, and $70 a month does not fix that.

FAQ

How much is SuperGrok Plus?

$100 per month, listed on the official xAI pricing page. It sits between SuperGrok at $30 and SuperGrok Heavy at $300.

Does SuperGrok Plus use a better model?

No. It runs the same Grok 4.6 as SuperGrok at $30 and SuperGrok Lite at $10. You are buying usage headroom, 1080p video and priority access.

What are the exact usage limits?

xAI does not publish numeric limits for any tier. All plans describe usage directionally, so you discover your ceiling by reaching it.

Do Chat, Imagine and Voice share the same limit?

Yes. Paid Grok plans meter Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build against one weekly pool, so heavy image or voice use reduces what is left for everything else. This is the most common reason people hit limits unexpectedly.

Should I wait for Grok 4.7?

Not as a reason to delay this decision. Model upgrades have reached all paid tiers rather than the top one only, and 4.7 has no published model ID, price or benchmark card as of today.

Is SuperGrok Plus better value than Claude Max?

Different products. Claude Max gives five times the Pro allowance with Opus 5 by default. SuperGrok Plus gives headroom and 1080p video on Grok 4.6, plus live X data that nothing else has.
