Metaware is a browser RPG with an AI game master. You have no idea who you are or what brought you to the western edge of the crumbling empire.
Tell the game master what you would like to do next. Bribe a guard or start a fight, run or charge, fly or fight, all up to you. In a world written by people and narrated by AI.
The setting, plot and characters are written by the developer. The AI game master narrates what happens as you explore and interact with them. You can talk to characters, investigate their problems, propose a deal or attempt a different approach. Characters can refuse what you ask. Dice rolls resolve attacks and skill checks, so describing an action does not guarantee that it succeeds.
The game includes a map, inventory and equipment. It is a playable beta from a one-person developer, available directly in a desktop browser. Create an account on the game's website to begin.
