Feature 1 — Gemini Live: Ask About Anything You See
Gemini Live on Galaxy S26 can now see and understand your screen in real time during a live voice conversation. Point your camera at a restaurant menu, a document, a product, or anything on your display — and ask Gemini about it without switching apps or typing. This is the Gemini Omni architecture (multimodal input — text, image, video — with spoken output) brought to Samsung's hardware at scale. The practical use cases: identify a plant or object with your camera while asking follow-up questions, get real-time translation of text in your camera view, or ask Gemini to explain something you are reading without leaving the screen.
The key distinction from previous Gemini on Galaxy: earlier Gemini integration was text-first with image upload. The new Gemini Live integration is voice-first with live camera feed — the AI is in the conversation continuously, not answering discrete queries. This matches how Google positioned Gemini Omni at its June 30 developer launch: not a query tool but a conversational layer that can see what you see.
Feature 2 — Circle to Search Gets AI Context
Circle to Search — the hold-and-circle gesture that launched on Galaxy S24 — gets two major AI upgrades on Galaxy S26. First: AI-powered shopping context. Circle a product in any app and get price comparisons, availability, and review summaries without leaving the app. Second: multi-language translation built into the circle gesture. Circle any text on screen — in a message, a photo, a website — and get an immediate translation with context, not just a word-for-word result. These upgrades make Circle to Search significantly more useful for everyday tasks than the original search-query version.
Feature 3 — Google Photos AI on Galaxy
Google Photos on Galaxy S26 gets automatic scene detection and smart album creation — the AI categorises photos by scene type, event, and people without manual tagging. Smart editing features include automatic sky replacement, lighting adjustment, and distraction removal (erasing unwanted objects from photos). These features were previously Pixel-exclusive or Google One Premium features — bringing them to Galaxy S26 expands the user base significantly.
