If you are planning engineering work for November, the date that matters is the 30th. Anthropic retires Claude
Sonnet 4.5 from its API that day, and OpenAI shuts down Agent Builder, the Evals dashboard and API, and the
v1/prompts API on the same date. Two vendors, one deadline, and anything still calling those endpoints stops
working.
THE FIVE THAT MATTER● 30 November: Claude Sonnet 4.5 leaves the Anthropic API● 30 November: OpenAI kills Agent Builder, Evals dashboard and API, and v1/prompts● 12 November: Anthropic's 2026 Usage Policy takes effect● 17-20 November: Microsoft Ignite 2026, keynote on the 17th● Week of 9 November: Anthropic IPO marketing may begin - reported, not confirmed

Status column is carried from the compilation this calendar is built on rather than asserted by us.
Confirmed means the vendor has published the date. Reported means a news outlet has it and the company has not
confirmed. Calculated means the date is inferred from a stated period rather than published.
The 30 November cliff
Claude Sonnet 4.5 leaving the Anthropic API is the one with the widest blast radius, because
Sonnet has been the default workhorse tier for most production integrations. Anything pinned to that model string
needs repointing before the end of the month, and a pinned model string is exactly the sort of thing that sits in
a config file nobody has opened since it was written.
OpenAI's shutdowns land the same day and hit tooling rather than models. Agent Builder goes, the
Evals dashboard and its API go, and the v1/prompts API goes. The Evals API is the quiet one - evaluation suites
tend to run in CI, so the failure shows up as a broken pipeline rather than a broken product, often after the
person who wrote it has moved on.
Separately, Anthropic has said Claude Opus 4.5 will not retire before 24 November but has not given an exact day.
Treat that as a date still to land rather than a date you can plan against.
What is actually new in November
Very little, which is itself the story. Apple's HomeView reaches availability on 13 November at $299, outside the
EU. PostgreSQL 19 hits general availability on the 19th. Microsoft Ignite runs 17 to 20 November in San Francisco
and online, with the keynote on the 17th, and AWS re:Invent opens on the 30th and runs into December - both are
the kind of event where launches get announced rather than scheduled in advance.
The two names everyone asks about, GPT-7 and Claude 6, have no announced date. Anyone giving you one is guessing.
December, so you can plan past the month
| Date | Who | What happens | Status |
| 1 Dec | Google | Gemini 4 Argon API rises from $2/$10 to $4/$20 per million tokens; Batch, Flex and Priority tiers also double | Confirmed |
| 1 Dec | OpenAI | gpt-image-1-mini, gpt-image-1.5 and chatgpt-image-latest shut down | Confirmed |
| 2 Dec | European Commission | EU AI Act bans on non-consensual intimate imagery and CSAM generation; machine-readable marking rule applies to pre-August 2026 systems | Confirmed |
| 8-13 Dec | NeurIPS | NeurIPS 2026; main conference 8-10 Dec Sydney, 9-11 Dec Paris and Atlanta | Confirmed |
| 11 Dec | OpenAI | GPT-5 snapshots (gpt-5-2025-08-07, gpt-5-mini, gpt-5-nano, gpt-5-pro) plus o3 and o3-pro shut down | Confirmed |
| 31 Dec | Google | Gemini 3.8 Flash promotional price ends; rises to $1.50/$7.50 on 1 January 2027 | Confirmed |
The one to budget for is 1 December: Gemini 4 Argon's API price doubles from $2/$10 to $4/$20 per
million tokens, and the Batch, Flex and Priority tiers double with it. If Argon is in your stack, your December
invoice is twice your November one unless you move. Gemini 3.8 Flash's promotional rate also ends on 31 December,
rising to $1.50/$7.50 on 1 January 2027.
