THE SHORT VERSION
● Raised — $550M Series E at $8.8B post-money
● Led by — Atreides Management
● Reported ARR — above $200 million
● Reach — 140,000+ legal professionals at 2,400+ firms
Legora, the Swedish legal AI company, raised $550 million in Series E at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation led by Atreides Management. The company reports annual recurring revenue above $200 million and more than 140,000 legal professionals across 2,400-plus firms.
Those figures are company-reported and unaudited, which is worth stating plainly — but if the ARR figure holds, this is one of the clearest cases yet of vertical AI producing real revenue rather than usage. An $8.8 billion valuation on $200 million of ARR is a 44x multiple, aggressive but not unprecedented for software growing at this rate.
What makes legal interesting as a vertical is that the buyer is unusually well-suited to AI pricing: law firms already bill by the hour and already outsource document review, so the value of the software is measurable in a line item that already exists. That is a much shorter path to budget than most AI categories get.
