WHAT SHIPPED
● Salesforce in Claude, open beta from 15 September. 37 prebuilt sales skills.
● Who has it: all paid Claude plans, admin-enabled.
● Already running: GitLab, Siemens and Legora, across roughly 7,000 sellers.
● Unanswered: whether it consumes your weekly allowance.
The question worth asking first
On Pro and Max, chat, Claude Code and Cowork all draw from a single weekly pool. That pool settled roughly 17 percent below its promotional level on 14 September.
Salesforce in Claude is available on all paid plans. Nobody has said whether sales work draws on the same allowance.
IT MATTERS MORE THAN IT SOUNDS
A sales team running 37 skills across a book of business generates a lot of model calls. Daily briefings, pipeline reviews, meeting prep, forecast narratives — all of it repeated per seller, per day.
If that shares a pool with your engineers running Claude Code, two departments are now competing for the same weekly budget and neither can see the other coming.
Ask your admin before rollout, not after the first Thursday somebody runs out.
What the 37 skills actually cover
Salesforce has named workflows including daily briefings, pipeline review, forecast narrative, meeting preparation, deal-health review, win/loss analysis, activity logging, renewal prep, QBR decks and Salesforce hygiene checks.
The framing worth noting is that these are named capabilities rather than prompts. A team gets the same pipeline review every time instead of thirty reps each writing their own — which is the actual argument for the product, and a better one than any feature list.
The architecture is the part developers should read
| Component |
What it means |
| Runs on MCP | The open protocol, at enterprise scale. No custom integration needed on the customer side |
| Headless 360 / AIforce harness | Salesforce side of the connection |
| Permissions inherit | Claude sees what that seller already sees. No new access model |
| Approval before writeback | The seller confirms before anything changes in Salesforce |
| Two connectors | Salesforce and Slack. Deal channels and account-team threads |
| Training data | Anthropic states customer data is not used for model training |
Two of those rows are the containment pattern Anthropic published about yesterday. Permissions inherited rather than granted, and approval required before an irreversible action. That is blast-radius thinking applied to a shipping product rather than described in an engineering post.
Two opposite bets, four days apart
On 12 September Microsoft added xAI models to Copilot, alongside the OpenAI and Anthropic models it already ships. Copilot became a model marketplace — no vendor owns the interface.
Claudeforce is the opposite. Claude is the default reasoning model across Agentforce, the Atlas Reasoning Engine and Slack. One model, deeply integrated, exclusive by design.
| Microsoft Copilot | Claudeforce |
| Model choice | OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI | Claude, default |
| Where the work happens | Inside Office | Inside Claude |
| The bet | Own the interface, rent any model | Own the model, reach into any system |
| Risk if wrong | Becomes a commodity shell | Loses the surface people actually open |
Both cannot be right. It is the clearest strategic split the industry has produced this year, and it landed within a week.
What to do if you are evaluating it
- Ask about the usage pool first. Whether sales work shares an allowance with engineering is the question that decides your rollout, and it is not documented.
- Check the approval flow with a real seller. Approval that becomes a habit of clicking yes is not a control.
- It is a beta. GitLab, Siemens and Legora are running it at scale, but beta means terms and behaviour can change.
- The Slack connector reads deal channels. Worth knowing which channels, and who is in them.
- Additional skills for service, marketing and commerce are indicated for late 2026. This is the sales-shaped slice of something larger.

FAQ
What is Salesforce in Claude?
A plugin bringing Salesforce accounts, opportunities and pipeline into Claude, with 37 prebuilt sales skills. It entered open beta on 15 September 2026.
Which Claude plans have it?
All paid plans, once an administrator connects Salesforce. It is not enterprise-only.
Does it use my weekly usage limit?
Not documented. On Pro and Max, chat, Claude Code and Cowork share one weekly pool that settled 17 percent lower on 14 September. Whether Salesforce work draws on the same allowance has not been stated, and it is the first thing to ask your admin.
Can Claude change my Salesforce data?
Only with approval. The seller confirms before anything is written back, and permissions inherit from existing Salesforce roles.
Is my CRM data used for training?
Anthropic states customer data flowing through the integration is not used for model training.
Who is already using it?
GitLab, Siemens and Legora, across roughly 7,000 sellers between them, from the pilot phase.
What is Claudeforce?
The wider partnership announced on 26 August, under which Claude becomes the default reasoning model across Agentforce, the Atlas Reasoning Engine and Slack. Salesforce in Claude is its first shipping product.
