THE 60-SECOND VERSION
● The boost ended at 11:59pm PT on 13 September, after four extensions.
● Reported: permanent 25 percent over baseline, 17 percent below yesterday.
● Documented: limits "return to their standard levels". No percentage anywhere on an Anthropic page.
● Run /usage. It is the only thing that tells you what you actually have.
The limits landed
The 50 percent Claude Code boost ended at 11:59pm PT last night, having been extended four times from an original 13 July deadline.
What replaces it is reported everywhere — including by us — as a permanent 25 percent increase over the pre-May baseline. Indexed: 100 before May, 150 yesterday, 125 today.
The detail worth knowing is that the 25 percent figure appears in one ClaudeDevs post and on no Anthropic-owned documentation page. The Help Center states only that weekly limits return to their standard levels, which is a different claim. Standard could mean 100.
The social post is presumably accurate. But a number that exists only in a social post is not one to plan around, which is why the advice today is to run /usage rather than trust any reported figure.

What to do rather than switch
Capacity changed. Capability did not. Claude Code still ranks first among agent harnesses, and switching because your allowance moved means paying a migration cost to solve a budgeting problem.
Trimming context usually recovers more than 17 percent at no cost — stop sending full context every step, cap diff sizes, restart long sessions from a summary.
What switching actually costs, option by option →
