May 5, 2026 was the most consequential single day for enterprise AI deployment this year. Anthropic launched 10 pre-built agents for financial services, unveiled Claude Opus 4.7, and confirmed that Claude now works as a single agent across the full Microsoft 365 suite.
Anthropic's 10 Financial Services AI Agents
At an invite-only event in New York, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon shared a stage to announce 10 pre-built AI agent templates for banking, insurance, and asset management. Five agents target research and client coverage: pitch builder, meeting preparer, earnings reviewer, model builder, and market researcher. Five more target finance and operations: valuation reviewer, general ledger reconciler, month-end closer, statement auditor, and KYC screener. Each agent is built on three components — skills (instructions and domain knowledge), connectors (real-time data access), and subagents for specialist sub-tasks like comparables selection and methodology checks. Agents are available as plugins in Claude Cowork and Claude Code, or as templates for Claude Managed Agents for programmatic, long-running deployment.
Real-world adoption is already underway. FIS (Fidelity National Information Services) is using Anthropic's agents to speed up anti-money laundering case reviews, with credit decision and fraud detection agents planned next. Carlyle has deployed Claude across investment analysis, operations, and portfolio oversight.
Claude Opus 4.7 — Finance Agent Benchmark Leader
Anthropic's new Claude Opus 4.7 is the model powering all 10 financial agents. On Vals AI's Finance Agent benchmark, it scores 64.37% — ahead of GPT-5.5 at 59.96% and Gemini 3.1 Pro at 59.72%. Amodei disclosed that Anthropic had projected 10x revenue growth over a recent period and instead saw annualised growth of roughly 80x in a single quarter.
Claude Across All of Microsoft 365
Claude now works as a single agent across Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook — carrying context between applications automatically. A new Claude for Excel add-in builds financial models from filings, audits formulas, and runs sensitivity analyses with limited manual input. Outlook integration is coming soon. Moody's is embedding its platform into Claude as a native app, giving Claude direct access to credit ratings and data on more than 600 million companies. Other new data connectors include Verisk, Third Bridge, Fiscal AI, D&B, Experian, GLG, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, Chronograph, LSEG, and Daloopa.
FactSet shares fell up to 8.1% on the announcement. Morningstar, S&P Global, and Moody's Corp. also saw sharp selling pressure as markets priced in competitive pressure from Claude's direct data integrations.
