An AI closed a quantum problem open since 2008
PSI published a proof of the Aaronson-Ambainis conjecture, found by an internal research system running non-public Anthropic model instances. A complete proof arrived on day three of the run and the Lean proof assistant accepted it; the system then improved the result twice. There is no peer review, and the audit was internal. Full story.
Claude can now read your bank accounts
Claude Personal Finance launched in beta for US Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers. Up to 16 US banks link through Plaid, Claude reads up to two years of transactions, and it cannot move, manage or invest money. Hub chats are excluded from training, and Anthropic states there are no ads or sponsored recommendations. Full story, and how it compares to ChatGPT.
Thinking Machines shipped 594B and named a date for the weights
Inkling 2 Small is a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 594B total parameters and 17B active, a 1M-token context and image input, scoring 86.3% on SWE-Bench Pro v2 Hard. It is API-only through Tinker with closed weights, and the lab says Apache 2.0 weights follow the week after. Full story, and the comparison against Hunyuan Hy4.
Google made its video model longer and cheaper at once
Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash reached general availability with clips up to 15 seconds, up from 10, at $0.07 per second for 720p — 30% below Omni 1.1. The feature worth more than the price cut is multi-turn conversational editing, which lets you refine a clip instead of regenerating it. Full story.
A humanoid robot company became a public stock
Agility Robotics began trading on Nasdaq as AGLT after merging with Churchill Capital Corp XI, raising about $465 million gross including a $201 million PIPE led by Foxconn. It holds more than $300 million in committed orders for Digit 5, which does not reach general availability until the end of 2027. Full story.
Also today
Grok API text watermarking became the default today across seven models, as scheduled — the detail is here. NVIDIA released VFlash and four open-weight Cosmos 3 models at 16B trainable parameters each, and Perplexity shipped Teammates, always-on work agents that run alongside a team rather than waiting in a chat window.
Frequently asked questions
Has the quantum proof been peer reviewed?
No. PSI states the Lean proof assistant accepted the formalisation and that an advisor audited it, which makes the audit internal. There is no journal publication.
Is Claude Personal Finance available outside the US?
Not in this beta. It is limited to US subscribers on the Pro, Max and Ultra plans.
When can I download the Inkling 2 Small weights?
Thinking Machines says Apache 2.0 weights follow the week after launch, once external safety testing and red-teaming finish. No exact date is confirmed.
How much does Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash cost?
$0.07 per second for 720p video, which Google puts at 30% below Omni 1.1. You draft at 360p or 720p and upscale finished clips to 1080p or 4K.
