Ultra is 3.3 times the price of Pro+ and carries about 6.7 times the usage. That is a deliberate bet on agent-heavy users, and it means the upgrade question has an arithmetic answer rather than a feelings answer.

Cursor splits allowance into two pools. The Cursor Models pool covers first-party models such as Grok and Composer with generous limits. The Other Models pool covers Claude, GPT and Gemini, charged at API rates.
Only the second pool is where money disappears quickly. So the question is not how much you use Cursor — it is how much frontier-model usage you route through it.
- Under $60 a month of model usage: Pro at $20, or Pro+ if you want headroom.
- $60 to $200: Pro+ covers you. Ultra costs more than you are consuming.
