Cursor grew by letting developers pick whichever model suited the task. That advantage depended on its suppliers not being its owner's competitors.
SpaceX now owns both the editor and Grok. OpenAI leaves in November. Whether Anthropic stays is the decision that determines what Cursor is in 2027, and it has not been announced.

Will Claude still work in Cursor?
For now, yes. Anthropic has not commented on the SpaceX acquisition or on continuing to supply Cursor.
Should I cancel Cursor?
